Caregivers

Support groups are groups of people who come together to share experiences, resources, and emotional support around a common issue or challenge. Support groups can provide a safe and supportive environment for people to connect with others who are going through similar experiences, and to gain knowledge and coping skills to help them manage their situation.

Support groups can be organized around a wide range of issues, including chronic illnesses, mental health, addiction, grief and loss, parenting, and caregiving. They may be led by trained facilitators, peers, or a combination of both.

Support groups can be held in person or online, and may be open or closed. Open support groups allow anyone to attend, while closed support groups are limited to a specific group of people, such as those with a particular condition or experience.

Benefits of support groups may include reduced feelings of isolation and loneliness, increased sense of belonging and connection, improved coping skills, and increased knowledge and resources. Support groups can also be an important source of validation, empathy, and emotional support.
